Indulgent (adj) •• benignly lenient or permissive; being favorably inclined; characterized by or given to yielding to the wishes of someone.

Our indulgent wines are characterized by their sweet and giving nature. These are not demanding wines, they are very willing to wait until you want a final sweet sip of wine at the end of the dinner, with or without any food to accompany it. These wines are the grandmas in our lives that give us the extra desserts or the cookie just before dinner. They indulge our desires for something sweet. Below are some examples of our indulgent wines.

Paolo Saracco has been called the "Maestro of Moscato" by Italy's leading wine magazine. Moscato d'Asti is a unique wine for its wonderful aromas, with a crisp Aaor, light fizziness, and the sweetness of the natural residual sugar left after the fermentation process. The low alcohol contene of the wine makes it great as either an apertif or a dessert - by itself or pairing it with an almond biscotti. In Italy they even have it as a refreshing mid-day break (usually after a cappuccino or two).

This dessert wine comes from an area only a few miles from Spain. Banyuls is the specific area where the grapes fro this indulgent treat come from. Thomas Jefferson was so enamored of the wines from this area he used to import them. This one is high in alcohol, so drink sparingly, which will be difficult to do. However, be assured that the wine will keep for a few days after being opened. To make an evening special, make some popcorn, drizzle it with olive oil, flavor with salt and dried thyme, and serve with this wine.

Chateau Ooisy-Vedrines is a second cru based on the 1855 classification of wineries. But there were only 27 crus for all of the sauternes so it is in a very select group. The Vedrines vineyard is the largest of the three Doisy estates. Sauternes are a classic wine of France and this one is a very nice example of this style of wine made with botrytized semi II ion and sauvignon blanc grapes. The wine has a rich honey and peach flavor with a very lonq finish. Would be qreat with creme brulee.
