This beautiful, island red from Sardinia is made from Cannonau, the local name for Grenache. If you’re looking for the most heart healthy wine, loaded full of the rersveratrol that makes it healthy, this is the wine! Marked notes of small woodland berries mix wisely with hints of dark chocolate and tobacco. Silky tannins and a good concentration, the wine is well balanced by a pleasant acidity that livens things up a bit on the palate. It’s at once an island retreat, a soulful red, and an ounce, or six or so, of good cardiovascular care… what’s not to love?!
