This bottle of bubbles comes from the Szigeti brothers out of Austria’s most Eastern region. This sparkling wine, or sekt, is all made using the méthode champenoise. A fun and festive Gruner Veltliner with a distinctive fruity and aromatic bouquet of green apple and white flowers. It shows overall finesse and noteworthy complexity with lively precise flavors of stone fruit like white peach, white pepper, and a nice toasty lees. There’s an underlying mineral drive that is so subtle, but so expressive of the mineral rich vineyards, one of our favorite things about Austrian wines.
