Tablas Creek brings us Rhone inspired wines, responsible for bringing over clippings from France, creating a nursery, and then making them so popular in California. If it’s a south of France varietal in Cali, it came from them! And, not that we get too caught up on reviews, but this was way up there on the Top 100 list from Wine Spectator a few years ago. Juicy with green apple and grapefruit pith, there’s a mineral drive, a saline note, a citrus curd creaminess, and hints of melon and sweet baking spices. It’s vibrant but layered and rich at the same time. Just delicious!
