Antonio Caputo, the owner of Enodelta, comes from a storied wine family in the area. They didn’t want him to get into wine but it was his passion and he dove right into it, against the family wishes, and that passion really shines through! The wine is aged in stainless steel to preserve the freshness and aromatics of these two lovely, nerdy native varietals. The volcanic soils give a supportive, underlying minerality that sets off notes of honeyed grapefruits, lime, lemon, and touches of white flowers on a saline breeze. Look on the back label, the name of this wine, “Lacryma Christi,” means the tears of Christ…a nod to the lore of the divine wine history in the region.
