Old school Rioja, like seriously old, Maturana Tinta is a mutation of the Maturana Blanco grape- one of the original grapes of the region, predating even the now famous Tempranillo. Once near extinction, it’s thanks to wineries like Bodegas Las Cepas that we have this grape around today. It is elegant and deep with notes of mountain herbs, rich bramble fruits, dry leather and vanilla undertones.
