After an eight year hiatus from producing Zinfandel, Dave Phinney reunited with the varietal that got him started in the wine business and created Orin Swift. With blood, sweat and tears, Eight Years in the Desert emerged- a blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Syrah, and a small percent of other red varietals. Brambly red fruits, black fig, and peppercorn open up to dark chocolate, blueberry pie, and forest floor. Finessed and integrated, silky and bold, yet delightfully soft with smooth drying tannins. The wine finishes in slow- motion, this is signature Orin Swift!
