Hungary is well known for their sweet whites, Tokaji makes some of the most famous dessert wines in the world, but they also make lovely dry reds and whites, just like this wine. Pronounced Kee-RYE-oohd-var this dry Furmint, a stunning, classic Hungarian wine has a nose of wet grass and pears. The palate is bright with lively acidity; dry but hinting at candied limes, honey, peach, apricot and pineapple. Layered and complex, it is reminiscent of an aged riesling with its honeyed beeswax finish. This is one of those rare finds, and it is oh, oh so good!!
