Highlighting Campania’s ancient varietals and placing a contemporary spin on its indigenous grapes, the acclaimed winery presents “The Tears of Christ.” There are a few stories of the origin but my favorite is that when Jesus was ascending to heaven, he looked down at the earth and saw the Bay of Naples. It was so beautiful that he wept tears of joy which fell on the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius where the vines then grew. You can practically taste the ancient volcanic soil among notes of red berries, strawberry, raspberry, scent of kirsch and dark earth with a sly peppery finish.
Varietals- Aglianico, Piedirosso
